The Grand Strand List for 1/19/24
Hereâs your weekend list, Grand Strand community!
LOCALS TO KNOW: Kimberly with POP + Glam Balloon Company

What is POP + Glam Balloon Company?
I am balloon decorator/designer/artist. My specialty is organic balloon garland, but I offer a wide variety of balloon decor.
How did you get into balloon designs? This is a very long story! But I guess Iâll try to shorten it. My husband and I took a leap of faith and left everything we know hoping for a calmer, less stressful life that allowed us more time together as a family. We are both in healthcare, at the time, in fast paced stressful jobs working 60+ hours a week. We decided it was enough! I quit my job and took some time off, enjoying my young boys. But I was quickly bored! The boysâ birthdays came and while looking for decorations, I found some really cute balloon designs. I didnât even know balloon designers/artists were a thing - I always bought balloons at the party store! I thought - âI can make that!ââŚand I sure could. It just took off from there.
Why do you love it? I love seeing people happy, and balloons are fun!
âI take my work very seriously. I would never provide a client with a product I wouldnât want for my own party. I do my best to meet or exceed expectations, every time.â

Do you sleep in socks?
Apparently, itâs pretty controversial!
It might seem socks would make you too toasty. But counterintuitively, researchers say, socks help lower core temperatures, a process that assists sleep.
Chilly feet can raise the temperature by sending more blood, and heat, to core areas, according to the Cleveland Clinic, which explains: âSo, what does adding in a fluffy pair of socks do? Those cuddly duds warm your feet, relaxing and widening blood vessels that constricted while cold. This improved blood circulation in your overall body helps release more heat through your skin.â
Ready to try sleeping in socks? These Super Soft Fuzzy Cozy Home Sleeping Socks have 1,241 5-star reviews on Amazon and are $11.99 for five! *sponsored link
